Va Beach Steel Pier Classic Team Trophy

Ryan & Jim w/ the team trophy

My buddy Ryan from the VLF asked me to build them a team trophy for the SPC this year. This will be a perpetual trophy and rotate through winners throughout years to come. Made w/ a poplar and mahogany board, maple, black walnut and cedar driftwood base.

Hang Time / Lg wall Sculpture

Sold

I know, I know, I've been slacking on the blog. But it's summer already and I'm super busy. Anyway, here is a new wall sculpture I completed to take to the Virginia Beach Steel Pier Classic.

A big Mahalo from the CSUPSC

From Grunder...
"The big day came. It was a big thrill to present your work of art to "Scooby". He was a little over whelmed by it and I know will treasure it forever. Scooby is the second from the left and I'm the third from the left.
Thanks again for taking on this project."

You guys a very welcome. It was a pleasure to build something new and different.

New SUP trophy for the Coronado SUP Surf Crew

Here is the Sup trophy for the CSUPSC. It came out awesome. I burned and wire brushed a piece of pine for the base. The Deck is a red oak, brazilian cherry, mahogany, yellow heart glue up w/ a hand hammered copper wave attached. The SUP surfer is on a mahogany board on a spring w/ a red oak and brazilian cherry paddle. Behind the plaque is a  black walnut backer.

I hope you guys have a blast @ your BBQ.

Anyone interested in custom sculptures/trophies are welcome to email me @ www.info@JKSurfArt.com , I will offer up estimates per description of project.

One With The Wave art show is moving to the JCC in Margate, NJ

Custom Sculpture for Andrew...

Andrew asked me to make a sculpture for his sister and her husband. 2 surfers on one wave symbolic of a shared life together...
The base is 2 types of mahogany, red oak, & yellow heart. Board #1 is mahogany & bass, board 2 is pine w/ painted stripes. The wave is hammered copper w/ a patina. In the background is an ugly hawaiian shirt from my collection.
