Dashboard Riders headed to San O!!!!

These 2 dashboard riders will be on proud display in 2 different San O surf vans. These triple stringer boards are glued up from maple and mahogany, both with red cedar log cutoff bases (I found on the beach in my secret spot).
Sterling, I hope you and your buddy enjoy these guys as much as I enjoyed making them.

Swine for Gnar Gnar

Mike Black (aka Gnar Gnar) has inspired me to build a special dashboard rider. His site SURF A PIG has gotten me all riled up. Gnar Gnar's stoke on old pig style shapes has given me the inspiration to make a special HAM Model for his car or spaceship or what ever he is crusing around in these days. The board is glued up from santos mahogany, philipino mahogany, red cedar & white pine with a black walnut fin.
Check out Mike's blog here... SURF A PIG ... and check out the new prototype pig #2 Gene Cooper is finishing up.

Christmas Sale.......

I'm running an Xmas sale on my small framed Gauche paintings and my Giclee prints. Small Gauches originally priced @ $200 are 1/2 off until the end of 2008. Giclee prints (unframed) usually $95 are $50 till the end of 2008.

Anyone looking to get a custom sculpture or dashboard rider please contact me now b/f it's too late. These are time consuming little projects and I tend to get bogged down w/ them around the holidays.

email me if interested... info@JKSurfArt.com

The Joker Dashboard Rider

SOLD
This dashboard rider has a bump hip like a Jacobs 422, square nose of the G&S Stretch, and the huge concave of the Bing Nuuhiwa Noserider. The board is red oak and bloodwood w/ a mahogany base. The concave is carved super deep, but I can't seem to get a good picture of it.
This is a model making light of the never ending barrage of square nose models I keep seeing in shops form different shapers, ie- the Tyler Riddler, Bing Is Is, The Channin Square, P Arrow Olsen Square.
Not that all of the boards don't work well. But just give me an old G&S Stretch and I'll be happy.

R. Boccia's Finished Table

Dr. Boccia's table is finaly finished. He asked for 5 Dashboard riders too. Here is a final shot of the table from my camera. The woods used were, for the top...Birds eye maple, black walnut, and bloodwood, & for the base...Bass and maple. I took the table to a photographer friend of mine Steve Mullen today & he took some professional shots of it. I'll post them when next week.
