"5 on Wanscot"

This is a wall sculpture I finished a while ago titled "5 on Wanscot". It can be viewed in Heritage Surf Shop, Ocean City, NJ. The board is made from mahogany, red oak, & purple heart. Hand bent and torched sheet metal serves as the wave. $495

The other day my friend Monk called to tell me the surf was good @ out local spot. Chest high and clean was the call and a balmy 41 deg water temp. He had just gotten back from a trip to Fla and was happy to be home. We started talking about the good times we and the rest of the OLC have had in the past surfing together. There have been contests up and down the East Coast, and our trip to Malibu Ca. this past fall. Evidently he felt the camaraderie in Fla wasn't the same as it is here in Jersey.

Here's a shot of Monk from the BU in Sept.

Approx. 4' x 1 1/2', acrylic. $850

Pat's (NJ Longboarder) Weber Fin Replacement

Here is one of those projects I started a looooong time ago and is finally finished. This is an early 60's Weber Pig. The fin had been cut in half when Pat bought the board, so I removed it and built a new one to match. The fin is made from mahogany and ash. She's ready to rock Pat. Thanks.

"Rincon, PR" Painting

Here is a painting I finished up from early last month. I painted it on a piece of Mahogany that I found on site in Rincon, PR. I was helping my friend Stefan by installing his hardwood floors & with some of the woodworking down there in early Dec. You can go to his Blog and see everything we did and more @... http://www.ca2pr.com/. This was a scrap that I salvaged. The mediums are pencil, pen, & acrylic, the only things I had @ the time. The painting is approx. 16"H x 8"W.

Ralph Boccia's sculpture table

Around the end of the summer Dr. Boccia commissioned me to make a sculpture table for his stairway. The table, when finished, will be 3' high x 22" wide x 12" deep. For the top we decided to use birds eye maple with t-bands of black walnut and blood wood. The base will be made from Maple and Bass, w/ small surfboards around it made from mahogany, red oak, and paduk. Here are some pictures of the progress so far.
